A MUST-DO! This hike is extremely popular, as one of the most iconic hikes in Phoenix. This short, heavy trafficked trail takes you to a 360 view of Phoenix, Scottsdale and all the neighboring cities.

We took Cholla trail up, which consists of "stairs" made from rocks. Invergordon Road has free street parking, although we parked so far from the the trailhead that it added extra time and distance to the hike. I have not done the other trail up so I can't compare them, but I recommend Cholla Trail.

As I consider this an easy hike for those avid hikers and a little challenging for the average person. My buddy is not a typical hiker and he was exhausted and wanted to stop a few times. But I motivated him to keep going. Roughly 2 hours to go up and down with my buddy...but if I did it alone...then it can be done in a much quicker time. The hike is only about 3 miles roundtrip, with a roughly 1500 foot elevation gain. Towards the top you have a little "on all four" moments as you near the peak due to bigger boulders.

I noticed many locals were running this trail for their daily/weekly exercise so that should be a good way to assess the difficulty for an active person. The view at the top is breath taking! Many cool spots to get those social media videos and pictures to show off how cool you are! LOL. I saw a few a dogs on the trail so it's dog friendly, but be careful because in the summer it gets so hot. Both the dog and yourself will need water. No tree coverage so get ready for a tan...or a sunburn if you're white like me! Bring plenty of water and sunscreen and you'll be just fine. All in all, no matter how long it takes you. Get up to the top and really take it all in.

Message me for any more details you would like to know!!
