This hike can be a long grueling one to the very top of the mountain range, or you can venture off to the falls as I did. Per usual in SoCal, in order to see the waterfall at it's best, must be after a few good rainy days, which aren't as common as you'd think. This hike is around 7-miles total, starting with the fire-road and eventually going onto a more difficult trail along the stream. The right turn off the fire road is pretty easy to spot. Just keep an eye out for a small trail going off to the right about 2.5 miles up the fire road.

The fire road trail has been said to be haunted, as there was a bus crash(bus supposedly still there) and known for KKK stuff in the past. We did not experience anything as we went along to the falls. Although I heard it happens mostly at night, if anything. Once off the fire road and headed to the falls, there are a lot of water crossings and rock hopping through this area. Once you get almost to the falls, there really is not a trail...just have to find your way up the boulders and trees. It was not the easiest of hikes, due to the technicality, but the falls were well worth it. Being in such an environment, opposite of what comes to mind when we think O.C. Just make sure you're comfortable with finding your way across and through the water. Took us around 3-hours to complete. It is partly covered, so not terrible in the sun. But should still bring plenty of water and a snack for the trip. Also it is dog friendly!
