After we conquered "Secret Cave" we decided to head over to Birthing Cave. When I searched for this hike on the AllTrails App. I found the route from Long Canyon Trailhead. Well we were parked at Boynton Canyon Trailhead and could do the hike from here. It was 4 miles roundtrip from here with only 502 foot elevation gain.
I would consider this a very easy hike, which is basically flat until you reach the cave. A short somewhat steep climb up and you're in the cave. When we arrived, around noon on a Saturday. There were already about 35 people hanging out, enjoying the views.

For us, we had already done 9 miles prior to this hike and were anticipating crowds. So it wasn't a shocker to see this many people here. The views and spot was cool, but we had already seen similar views and in my opinion...a much cooler cave.

But for those of you who want to do either a 2 or 4 mile hike to a cave, then this is the one for you. If you park at Long Canyon Trailhead it is only 2 miles roundtrip. (I did not get to see this trail, so I can't say exactly how easy or hard it is. But based on who I saw at the cave...I would say it can't be too difficult.)
I would consider this a family friendly hike and why not make it a 4 miler by parking at Boynton Canyon Trailhead. AND then you have the option of checking out more trails once you're done. Next week I will give details about Boynton Canyon if that's something else you'd be interested in hiking while visiting Sedona.
Overall a nice mellow hike. Not much protection from sun exposure, so definitely bring sunscreen or wear sun layers. As always bring plenty of water.
