Limited parking, surprised? GO EARLY! You need an adventure day pass or annual. These can be purchased at REI, all ranger stations and some local small markets. The length of this trip is about 7-miles. Clearly marked trails with signs so very difficult to get lost. There are a ton of different routes possible in this area, so if you'd like to venture off into a different loop go for it. Search google for the trail maps and make up your own day hike! For those who want to stay on this ~7 mile then it shouldn't take more than 2.5-hours to complete this. It has roughly 1000 foot elevation gain, but it leads to an amazing view of the mountains opposite of the lake. The valley view you get is something words can't describe.

We sat here for awhile and took in the view. The elevation gain is spread over the length of the trail so it is not very obvious or difficult by any means....other than the fact you are already in higher elevation due to being in the mountains in Big Bear, CA. This hike is full of amazing forest smells and a ton of nature to make you realize how insignificant as humans we really are. Don't skip this hike if you want a moderate to easy hike with an unbeatable view as the prize. As the corona virus gets "worse", now may be the best time to get out there and avoid crowds by hiking in nature!
